A new, larger facility was realized when Polk County government provided a 99-year lease on the southwest corner of the Polk County Fairgrounds.
In the fall of 1999, the current museum opened its doors to the public. In 1974, PCHS also acquired the Harrison Brunk pioneer farm site.

Portland Drama Club is a nonprofit that teaches Portland's youth the power in themselves through play, practice, and performance. It is our goal to provide a creative, safe space for children to have fun and gain confidence while learning the skills necessary to perform for an audience through musical theater. Not only will kids learn movement, vocal, and acting technique - as well as technical aspects of putting on a show - they will learn to work as a team and to form clear points of view. They will learn to encourage others to be silly and feel brave enough to be silly themselves without judgement. While they will absolutely learn to enunciate and speak up, they will also become better listeners. They will learn concentration, hard work, and doing your personal best pays off and is fun!

Portland Revels celebrates the seasons through song, dance, story and ritual of the past and present, creating community across generations and cultures.
Revels is a one of a kind experience, a little bit classical, a little bit historical, and a little bit farcical. It harkens back the old days of community and family, when a night out meant singing around the fireplace. Enjoy exploring some Revels traditions and history!

Visionary city leaders started the Portland Rose Festival in 1907 to put the Rose City on the map and brand it “the summer capital of the world.” Little did they know that more than a hundred summers later the Rose Festival would be world-famous – both for its remarkable, award-winning events (including three parades, an urban fair and waterfront concerts) and as a leader in celebrating community values like volunteerism, patriotism and environmentalism.

As a group we want to promote the diffusion of the Argentine Tango to the larger Portland urban area. In order to achieve our goal, we want to help improve the organization structure that currently sustains the Portland Tango Community. We believe in helping people improve their dance by facilitating the visit of very good teachers, helping the local teachers and providing financial support to students that might be in need. We also want to improve the communication tools that we already have.

Our mission is to produce a season of plays devoted to a single playwright, engaging with our community to explore that writer's vision and influence on theatre and the world at large. We provide an opportunity for audience members to experience the work of our featured writer in a way that no other theatre in our area provides. We do this through large-scale professional productions, In Dialogue Series readings and supplemental programming, and our vibrant and growing education programs.

Based in Portland, push/FOLD exists to uplift artists, students, and our community. Under the co-leadership of founding Artistic Director Samuel Hobbs and Managing Director Holly Shaw, the company serves over 3,000 people each year through performances, classes, mentorships, and youth-reach programming, alongside our Union PDX – Festival of Contemporary Dance. Known for its signature physicality and musical architecture—performing and teaching nationally and internationally—push/FOLD’s work explores the tension between power, vulnerability, and collective identity.
As a service organization, push/FOLD uses movement and art to engage, empower, and foster belonging. We link creation, service, and education as one continuous practice—expanding who dance is for and how it can strengthen community power. We work with professional artists, athletes, training programs, educators, and schools, and we create immersive performance and educational experiences through cross-disciplinary collaborations in dance, music, science, and athletics. Our goal is straightforward: to ensure that income level, location, culture, identity, and education function as access points, not barriers.
As a 501c3 nonprofit arts organization, push/FOLD collaborates with foundations, presenters, arts organizations, artists, and teachers to create innovative performances and educational programs that inspire, support, and strengthen the communities we serve.

Quintessence was formed in 2001. In its first six seasons, we paired a classic Shakespearean play with an original play by the Artistic Director, Connor Kerns, because we find working with different kinds of language and ideas very fruitful. We are project-based and put the word at the center of all our work.
