As a group we want to promote the diffusion of the Argentine Tango to the larger Portland urban area. In order to achieve our goal, we want to help improve the organization structure that currently sustains the Portland Tango Community. We believe in helping people improve their dance by facilitating the visit of very good teachers, helping the local teachers and providing financial support to students that might be in need. We also want to improve the communication tools that we already have.

Mission: The Program for Intellectual Empowerment (PIE) is a community-centered organization dedicated to enriching neurodivergent individuals through holistic, neuroscience-based support.
About Us: Since 2018, PIE has been dedicated to empowering individuals with autism and developmental disabilities through inclusive programs and creative opportunities. Our approach fosters connection, self-expression, and growth by bridging the gap between neurodivergent and neurotypical communities. We believe in creating spaces where everyone can thrive, learn, and be celebrated.
Our Approach: Using Dr. Ellyn Arwood’s Neuro-Semantic Language Learning Theory (NsLLT), we engage the brain to promote adaptation, problem-solving, and effective communication. Our inclusive environment encourages our clients to develop strengths, express creativity, and break down barriers, redefining education and empowerment to help every individual reach their full potential.
Classroom and Unified Art Studio: In other words, we invite our clients to build their academic skills in our classroom, where they may always express themselves and learn in their own ways. Beyond academics, our Unified Art Studio is open to the public during designated days, often drawing people with autism and other neurodivergences from around the region to gain art and social skills in a safe setting, where no one is turned away.

Based in Portland, push/FOLD exists to uplift artists, students, and our community. Under the co-leadership of founding Artistic Director Samuel Hobbs and Managing Director Holly Shaw, the company serves over 3,000 people each year through performances, classes, mentorships, and youth-reach programming, alongside our Union PDX – Festival of Contemporary Dance. Known for its signature physicality and musical architecture—performing and teaching nationally and internationally—push/FOLD’s work explores the tension between power, vulnerability, and collective identity.
As a service organization, push/FOLD uses movement and art to engage, empower, and foster belonging. We link creation, service, and education as one continuous practice—expanding who dance is for and how it can strengthen community power. We work with professional artists, athletes, training programs, educators, and schools, and we create immersive performance and educational experiences through cross-disciplinary collaborations in dance, music, science, and athletics. Our goal is straightforward: to ensure that income level, location, culture, identity, and education function as access points, not barriers.
As a 501c3 nonprofit arts organization, push/FOLD collaborates with foundations, presenters, arts organizations, artists, and teachers to create innovative performances and educational programs that inspire, support, and strengthen the communities we serve.

For over 10 years, the popular Eugene-based theater company has been reinvigorating a vintage artform that’s also new—radio storytelling. If you like podcasts, you’ll love Radio Redux, which takes the style of live storytelling done so well on the radio in the 1930s and ’40s and elevates it to a modern artform. Radio Redux’s success—capacity audiences, rave reviews, dynamic acting—proves that something old can be not only new again, but also extremely popular and engaging.
The critically acclaimed Eugene theater company is a national leader in the rare realm of radio storytelling that relies on vocal acting, live sound effects and musical snippets to invoke vivid pictures in the listener’s mind, where the most effective storytelling takes place. Radio Redux’s uncommon approach fires up the imaginations of its avid followers by infusing classic stories with an inventive yet authentic stage presence.

Rejoice! is a Portland-based contemporary dance ensemble led by the bold vision and artistic direction of Oluyinka Akinjiola. Inspired by the folklore of the great African diaspora, Rejoice’s performance repertoire boldly weaves stories of adversity and hope, captivating audiences with their outspoken calls for social change.
Our contemporary dance shatters convention. Vibrant rhythms and powerful words weave tales of hardship and triumph, giving form and flow to our enduring humanity. Inspired by storied pasts, our journey constantly adapts into something new, provocative, and meaningful. There are decades of complexity in our expressions, yet there is also an abundance of joy and love. Entwined in our passion to dance is a deep purpose to spark change—both in ourselves and everyone we encounter.
We see art as our activism; the stage our canvas. Our ensemble a diverse palette of color and personality. We confront themes of injustice and oppression head-on and unapologetically. With intention in every step, gesture, and rhythm, our movements ignite a movement. Audiences immerse in our revelation, leaving wide-eyed and full of hope for the tomorrow that lies ahead.
We believe, as Maya Angelou did, that “if we are bold, love strikes away the chains of fear from our souls.” Together, we Rejoice!

Salem Orchestra was founded in 2018 with a mission to create and connect communities through diverse musical performances and educational outreach. Created by a group of young, engaged professionals, Salem Orchestra is built on many beliefs: that arts are the heart of society and the soul of civilization; that Salem deserves, desires and will support its own, local-grown professional orchestra; that classical music is classic not by virtue of its age, but its timelessness; and that we have something unique and valuable to offer in the continued development of our community. We aim not only to make great music, but to act as a hub of arts and culture in Salem through mutual-support and partnership with other like-minded organizations, businesses, and individuals in pursuit of our shared values.

Formed in 1975, the Salem Symphonic Winds was originally called the Salem Wind Ensemble. In 1981, it reorganized to become the Salem Concert Band, a non-profit community adult band and a forum for local musicians to perform quality traditional and contemporary band literature. In 2018, it changed its name to Salem Symphonic Winds.
Our band is a vibrant community of 50 to 60 adults from various walks of life in the Salem, Oregon, area. Our members, hailing from diverse occupations and backgrounds, are united by a shared passion for creating and performing great music.
The group has commissioned several new works and regularly includes new literature in its programming. The band typically performs four concerts in its regular season at Rose Auditorium at South Salem High School in Salem. They also perform an annual pops-style concert during the summer at the Youngberg Hill Winery and Inn in McMinnville. Additional concerts are also scheduled in the Salem area.

Salem’s Riverfront Carousel was handcrafted between 1995-2001 and is distinctly Oregon themed with various State symbols as part of its artistic attraction. All of the items, including the animals were and are ‘adopted’ with sponsorship and support from our local community. We strive to keep the dream alive by embracing our global community, promoting tourism/volunteerism, providing cultural/educational opportunity/events/programming, and continuing business/agency partnering. Our goal remains to inspire creative living, community cohesiveness, cooperation, diversity, inclusion, imagination and fun, for generations to come!

Our current home opened in 2007 with focus on the Barlow Road, covering Government Camp to Eagle Creek, the logging industry and the founding families -- all depicted through written history panels and artifacts of the time. Save the PT Boat, Inc.was established in July of 1995 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, formed by a group of gray-haired ex-PT boaters to take custody of an historic relic, PT658, a World-War II motor torpedo boat, and restore it to original operating condition. Save The PT Boat, Inc., operates and displays the PT658 in the Pacific Northwest as a recognized historic monument as well as a living memorial to all those who manned, fought, serviced and maintained these small warships during the second world war. As of 2012 PT658 has also been named to the National Historic Register by the National Park Service.
The organization has accomplished quite a lot, with a work force of dedicated hard working volunteers, except when specialty trades are needed. Restoration and maintenance is an on going project, but the organization still needs help for a new Educational/Heritage Museum and as well as for those additional restorations and maintaining the boat and other items.
