The high plains and long horizons of Central Oregon have inspired creative expression for centuries. First, among the Native Americans who summered in nearby canyons; today among local artists who find an uncommon range of media and source material for their work.
The Art Adventure Gallery was created to capture the breadth and character of these works and bring them to residents and visitors of Central Oregon. It is a cooperative effort of the artists involved and the Madras community, staffed and managed by volunteers.

Josephine Community Library Foundation is a nonprofit foundation established in 1987, funding special library projects which build community and provide open access to information.
The library foundation raises funds to support special programs beyond the reach of the library’s regular tax-funded operating budget.
Our work includes:
Cultivating relationships with individuals, businesses, and granting organizations.
Facilitating legacy planning.
Managing financial assets on behalf of donors.
Providing financial support for specific library program and facility needs and goals.
How we started
In 1987, concerned volunteers formed Josephine County Library Foundation. Independent of the county government, this new nonprofit foundation let people donate for the direct benefit of local libraries. More than 30 years later, this important work continues.
How we evolved
In May 2017, voters approved the Josephine Community Library District. Now, under our new name, Josephine Community Library Foundation, and in partnership with the library district, the foundation has taken on the responsibility of raising funds for special projects the library couldn’t otherwise afford.

The La Grande Education Foundation believes money should not be a barrier to the great ideas and passions of teachers. To that end, through our primary fund--the General Excellence in Education Fund--we give grants to teachers to make special projects a reality. We also believe our coaches, advisors, participants, and players should spend more time engaged in the pursuit of excellence and less time on fundraising. To achieve this, we issue grants to support our athletic teams and school activities. In addition, the foundation sponsors several college scholarships for La Grande High School graduates. Additions to the existing scholarships or the creation of new scholarships is welcomed by the foundation.

Organized in 1999, this community band has enjoyed great success in providing a place for adult musicians to further develop their musical skills while having fun and developing lasting friendships. We have been recognized by the John Philip Sousa Foundation as a Sudler Silver Scroll recipient, which is the higest honor a community band may achieve and have provided high level musical entertainment to our community since our inception in 1999.

Our Mission is to partner with the City of Lake Oswego in the creation and development of a memorial for historic preservation of the service of all U.S. military veterans and first responders with strong ties to Lake Oswego. In providing educational and community enrichment in an artistic environment to remember those who served, we must first generate donations sufficient to fund the memorial's design, permitting and construction per our formal agreement with the City.

Lan Su Chinese Garden is one of Portland's greatest treasures and most interesting sites to see while visiting Portland. A result of a collaboration between the cities of Portland and Suzhou, our sister city in China's Jiangsu province that's famous for its beautiful Ming Dynasty gardens, Lan Su was built by Chinese artisans from our Suzhou and is one the most authentic Chinese gardens outside of China.
Lan Su is a window into Chinese culture, history and way of thinking.

Latino Community Association (LCA) is an essential connecting point for our immigrant community to ask questions, have letters translated, get help making phone calls (interpretation) and negotiating payment plans (advocacy). We help families pay their bills, file their taxes, work through legal issues, find employment, improve their English, and connect to new opportunities. We give our clients the time to be heard and understood. We also provide volunteer opportunities.

Laurel Community was settled in 1872 south of Hillsboro, Oregon. In 1923, Laurel Community Home Club was formed as a non-profit corporation. In their first meetings, they formed a plan to build a community hall. It was dedicated in February 1924. For nearly 100 years, the Laurel Hall has been available for community and farm meetings, and social gatherings such as meals and dances.
Maintaining a 100 year old hall comes with responsibility. The vision of the Laurel Community Home Club is to gather with our community to maintain and update Laurel Hall so that it will continue to be a meeting place for future generations.

Leach connects people to nature. In 1931 Lilla and John Leach bought 4 acres on Johnson Creek, built a fine house, surrounded it with plants they collected, and later gave the property to the public. Leach Garden Friends operates the Garden, offering free or low-cost educational programs such as Nature Fair, Honeybee Hikes for preschoolers, and Art in Nature camps. Staff guide young teens caring for the Children’s Garden. Portland Audubon runs its Talon program for older teens at Leach.

Lewis & Clark Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution
The Sons of the American Revolution is the leading male lineage society that perpetuates the ideals of the War for Independence. As a historical, educational, and patriotic, non-profit corporation, we seek to maintain and expand the meaning of patriotism, respect for our national symbols, the value of American citizenship, and the unifying force of e pluribus unum that was created from the people of many nations, one nation and one people.
This chapter has many activities and its rapid growth and success may well be attributed to the fact that it has something to offer everyone that wishes to get involved through our Mentoring program. These activities include American History presentations in school with our Learning Trunk; a traveling booth; a community outreach program; and a Boy Scout program.
