Amy Lewin
Director of Arts and Culture
Amy Lewin serves as Director of Arts and Culture at the Oregon Arts Commission and the Oregon Cultural Trust, where she leads statewide strategies to strengthen Oregon’s creative ecosystem and expand access to arts and culture. Working closely with artists, cultural organizations, tribal nations, regional coalitions, and legislators, she leads the team responsible for grantmaking, cultural policy, and initiatives that reinforce the essential role arts and culture play in Oregon’s economy and sense of belonging.
Raised in rural Oregon, Amy brings a deep, personal understanding of the importance of cultural access in every corner of the state. She has two decades of experience in strategic communications, partnership development and organizational leadership. She previously guided major transformation efforts at Oregonian Media Group, including the launch of Here is Oregon, a statewide storytelling platform celebrating Oregon’s people and places. At the Portland Business Alliance, she led narrative strategy during a pivotal period of regional recovery and co-chaired the Mayor’s Recovery & Rebranding Action Table to rebuild confidence and connection across the community.
Known for her collaborative approach, Amy has built partnerships across sectors. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oregon and a graduate certificate in Emerging COO Leadership from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
