Portland Children’s Museum

Founded in 1946, Portland Children’s Museum consists of three interrelated entities: the Museum, comprised of indoor/outdoor exhibits and on-site/off-site programs; Opal School, a fee-based preschool and public K-5 charter school; and the Museum Center for Learning, which researches and disseminates innovative practices in education. Museum exhibits are interactive, hands-on, and provide opportunities to learn through play—the essential work of the child.
