Harney County Museum

Mrs. Anna Cater donated to the society 10 lots and $10,00 to establish a museum and a library. The money was placed in escrow to be matched two years later by the citizens of the county. The museum was dedicated on August 2, 1960. We have a large collection of artifacts from pioneer families, a wildlife exhibit, archaeological exhibits, the history of the Edward Hines Mill, plus much more. We are open Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 – 4:00 from the second weekend in April through September.
