Future Prairie

Future Prairie is a queer art museum founded in January 2018 by poet Joni Renee Whitworth.

​We host artist residencies in beautiful downtown Portland, Oregon, and we pay marginalized artists to create art.

Our work centers the narratives of women, disabled, racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual minorities, and low-income individuals. Our curatorial team is comprised of opera singer Emmanuel Henreid, filmmaker Hannah Hefner, and designer Tiana Avila.
