OPB has presented Marcia H. Randall with its Leadership in Philanthropy Award, which honors supporters whose visionary philanthropy have enabled OPB’s greatest strides forward as a public service.

Randall is the fifth recipient of the OPB award. Previous recipients include Barbara Coit Yeager, William K. and Nancy Blount, John and Patricia Beckman and the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Family.

“It is wonderful to witness the thought and humility Marcia Randall brings to philanthropy. We are pleased to honor Marcia and join with her in nurturing a new generation of lifelong learners,” said Steve Bass, OPB president and CEO.

Randall was selected to receive the honor for her transformational support of OPB. In 2012, she provided a $750,000, three-year grant to OPB through the Robert D. and Marcia H. Randall Charitable Trust. This gift funded the acquisition of national programs in history, science and culture and supported local production for Oregon Art Beat and Oregon Experience.

In 2001, Randall founded the Robert D. and Marcia H. Randall Charitable Trust with her husband Robert. While he passed away shortly after the Trust was established, Marcia has since carried on the couple’s shared vision and their mission to “enrich the lives of people in the Pacific Northwest” and “improve education and social well-being to create a better world.”
