Kim's Calendar

With deep regret, all Poet Laureate events are canceled through mid-May, as we must do our part to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Kim Stafford will spend the remainder of his time as Poet Laureate (through the middle of May) developing online ways to share poetry, teaching ideas, films, recordings, and other resources. We will add links to this page as they become available, and let you know when we can resume public programs.

Kim Stafford’s “Pandemic Poems”

Please complete this form to request the Poet Laureate at your event. Schedule requests are considered based on the Poet Laureate’s availability. The Poet Laureate will follow up with you regarding your request. Kim Stafford’s term will end May 2020.

If your appearance request is approved, and your event is focused on Kim Stafford, you will be responsible for the following:

• Introducing the Oregon Poet Laureate as "appointed by Governor Kate Brown, and that the Poet Laureate program is a collaborative project of the state’s five cultural partners: Oregon Arts Commission, Oregon Humanities, Oregon Heritage Commission, Oregon Historical Society, and State Historic Preservation Office, with funding from the Oregon Cultural Trust."

• Distributing and collecting audience feedback forms (provided by Oregon Humanities) and returning them within thirty days of the event

For any other questions regarding the Poet Laureate, please contact the program coordinator, Jade Schey, at, or call (503) 241-0543, ext. 110.
