What We Support

Since 2003, donations to the Cultural Trust have created more than $16 million in grants to more than 949 arts, heritage and humanities programs and 2,400 projects through the cultural coalitions that serve every county and federally recognized tribe in Oregon. The five Cultural Partner agencies have supported another 60 projects, statewide.

The Trust’s three grant programs allow funding to be deep and broad. Of the more than $4.3 million raised annually, 58 percent goes into the permanent fund to foster its continued growth. The goal of the Oregon Cultural Trust is to grow the fund into a self-sustaining $200 million.  The remaining 42 percent of the dollars raised, and of the investment income from the permanent fund, is distributed through three grant programs:

These grants are made possible entirely by Oregonians' donations to the Cultural Trust. Trust donors not only receive a 100 percent tax credit from the State of Oregon – if their gift is matched by equal or greater contributions to any number of 1,400 Participating Cultural Nonprofits – they also provide a direct benefit to the libraries, historical societies, youth art programs and preservation projects that are the heart of every community.
