A planned gift to the Oregon Cultural Trust is a powerful legacy. It helps ensure future generations will reap the benefits of vibrant communities.

A bequest to the Cultural Trust will qualify your estate for a charitable deduction equal to the entire amount you bequeath.

Here is some sample language to include in your will:

A general bequest:
“I give to Oregon Cultural Trust, whose current legal address is Oregon Cultural Trust Fund, Oregon Community Foundation, Oregon Community Foundation 1221 SW Yamhill, Ste 100, Portland OR 97205 the sum of $___________ (or specifically describe property or percentage of estate or residual), to be used for its general charitable purposes as the Board of Directors of Oregon Cultural Trust shall determine.”

Your gift will be acknowledged in the Oregon Cultural Trust’s Annual Report unless you request otherwise.

NOTE: In order to accept and manage gifts that must be made to a 501(c)(3), the Cultural Trust has established a fund agreement with the Oregon Community Foundation, which acts as its fiscal agent for this purpose. The Oregon Cultural Trust Fund at the OCF also serves as a depository for gifts of stock or similar financial instruments.

The property and any additions shall be accounted for and designated by OCF as the Oregon Cultural Trust Fund (“Fund”).

The assets of the Fund may be merged with other OCF property for investment purposes.

The Fund shall be subject to OCF’s Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws, each as amended and restated from time to time, and the terms of this agreement shall be applied in all respects in a manner not inconsistent with said Articles and Bylaws (including without limitation the provisions thereof authorizing OCF to vary or modify restrictions or conditions that it believes are unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment, or inconsistent with the charitable, educational and scientific needs of the state of Oregon).
