The Oregon Cultural Trust Board will hold its next meeting in Newport on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 8:30am to 1pm at the Newport Visual Arts Center. The meeting open to the public.

The Trust board and staff will also hold a meet & greet on Wednesday, July 24 from 5 to 6:30pm, location to be announced.

The meet & greet will be an opportunity to meet new Oregon Arts Commission Assistant Director, David Huff, formerly of the Corvallis Art Center. Huff and the Arts Commission share offices with the Cultural Trust. Huff joined the Arts Commission on May 17.

Trust Board Chair Bob Speltz lauded the choice of Newport for the July meeting. “The board’s decision to meet in Newport reflects the CulturalTrust’s commitment to reach all of Oregon – from the coast to the state’seastern borders. Newport is obviously a great summer destination, particularlyfor cultural tourism, which is an economic sector the Trust impacts. I think myfellow board members and the staff are as excited as I am to take this trip andmeet partners and supporters at the Wednesday evening reception,” said Speltz.

On July 23, the Oregon Cultural Trust will also attend the Yamhill County Cultural Coalition Awards Ceremony in Yamhill County.
