The Benton County Cultural Coalition announces this wondering opportunity to participate in the first globally coordinated book reading flash mobon Wednesday, March 28 at 16:00 – 16:15 (4:00 to 4:15 pm), in the 200 block of SW 2nd Street, Corvallis, Oregon.

The global event is sponsored by Pay It Forward and the local event is coordinated by the Friends of the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library.

There will reading flash mobs across the globe in the UK, Switzerland, Slovenia, Thailand, Australia, Brazil,  Canada, the US,  and in Corvallis,Oregon. Check the website for a complete list.http://www.pifexperience.org/pifflashmob/

Here’s what to do.

 

WHEN: Wednesday, March 28 at 4:00 pm.

WHERE:  Corvallis, Oregon on 2nd avenue, between Jefferson and Madison avenues.

PRINT: the attached flyer explaining the event.

BRING:
1. A book (to give away) that has inspired you with the attached flyer tucked inside. 
2. A  bright yellow hat or headscarf which will  identify you as part of the event. 

HOW:
Be window shopping or just hanging out with your hat out of sight in the area of 2nd street between Jefferson and Madison.

Then at 4:00 pm, put on your yellow hat, sit down and begin reading your book.  If anyone asks what you’re doing,  tell them you and the Friends of the Library are Paying It Forward, and give them your book.  Then take off your hat, and blend in with the crowd.  The event will end at 4:15 and anyone who still has their book will give it to a passerby.
